A Brisbane Visit

During our first week in Kingaroy, Coenraad phoned us and let us know he was in the finals for the Criminal Law Moot on Thursday night. We have never been able to attend any of his moots in the past as it has always been in the week. With Danie also in teaching now and him finishing at 3pm and with living closer to Brisbane now, we decided to go. We made it just in time after navigating city traffic at it's peak and finding parking that can be a nightmare in the centre of Brisbane. It was a fantastic contest and the other team won. We were treaded unexpectedly with lovely fresh filled rolls and cool drinks. As we were on the road all afternoon, we didn't have time for supper before so this was a great feast.

After the contest we decided to go and watch the laser show on the Brisbane River, just across the bridge from the QUT Universtity. It was spectacular in colour and especially the reflections on the water. Here are a few of the photo's to give you some idea.

The walk along the river is beautiful. Here are a few photo's of a walkway next to the Brisbane River.

We left at 9.30pm and arrived back in Kingaroy past midnight at 12.30am.

First week in Kingaroy

We took the most needed and spent our first week camping in the house. I have done a lot of CLEANING and SCRUBBING! Danie is finding his way around the new school and I have been home most of the time. I had some time to stitch on my "Rocky Point" again and enjoyed it so much.I have put more stitches into the blue sky.

I have had a seconde week without a voice and thus haven't been able to do any casual teaching. I had one interview at the largest primary school in Kingaroy and did that with a whisper. NOT GOOD!

We have just arrived back in Hervey Bay for the two week school holiday. We now have to start some cleaning up in our huge shed. It will be a very busy time.

Shifting Country

My husband has taken a teaching position at a high school in Kingaroy. We have gone to have a look at the accommodation offered to us and was pleasantly surprised.. It is light and sunny, but so much BLUE. I felt like a fish in the ocean. We will have to sell some of our furniture, as we are downsizing from a 4-bedroom home to a 2-bedroom home. This will mean a massive garage sale to also clear a 3-bay shed.

Here are a few photo's BEFORE our arrival. Notice the fridge is offered as part of the house.

Just look at all the light in the passage!

The BBQ area is very private and quite large. We will spend a lot of time here.
This is the only garden and it needs some tender loving care. We just love the large windows. We took one chair down for hubby to use during the first 5 days there.
The following photo's were taken while driving. There are beautiful rolling hills and a lot of golden, windswept grasslands.
We are looking forward to a new adventure.
