Update on "Meant to be Together"

This is an update on "Meant to be Together". I took this kit with me to South Africa as well, as an alternative to stitch while I was doing "Grandma & Grandpa's house" in secret.

I completed the baby bear in the mirror. Isn't he just asking for a hug!

I also completed the lock and key. The back stitching on the lock made such a difference.

This is my progress on this piece at the moment.

I am working on two bears on the square to the right. They don't look like much at the moment.

Our schools started here in Queensland on Tuesday the 28th January 2014, after an Australia day long weekend. So I'm working again and will only be able to stitch during the afternoons and evenings, after the normal daily tasks of cooking and washing are done.

Completed "Grandma's House"

I have arrived back from South Africa yesterday. My husband and son arrived back ten days ago. We had a fantastic time visiting family and friends. This was the most rememerable holiday we will cherish for life as our boys were able to join us on this trip, after their university holidays started.

My aim was to complete "Grandma and Grandpa's House" as I retitled it. We have a Grandpa in this house as well...we couldn't forget or ignore that he also exists. He plays a very big part in our existence.

I stitched whenever I had a few moments. Out of sight for Grandma and Grandpa of course, as this was going to be a surprise to them towards the end of our stay. I finished the six individual teddy squares while in Brisbane, after Coenraad's graduation, and before we flew out to South Africa.

I stitched a great part of the larger picture at the bottom of the pattern, in the car for eight days as we were driving to Cape Town and back.

I also changed the words below from "WHERE LOVE ABOUNDS" to "THE FUN PLACE TO BE".

I also put a hatch window in the loft room for two more teddies instead of the heart in the pattern.

I finished it just before sunset on our last day of travel, then washed it that evening in our hotel room and had it framed as soon as we got back.

This was the finished product after being framed.

Grandma and Grandpa were very surprised and thrilled with their gift.
