Lone Pine Koala Sanctuary

Hi everyone,
We decided to visit the Lone Pine Koala Sanctuary here in Brisbane on Sunday while our youngest son was visiting from Sydney.

This is one of the Top 10 Wildlife Parks in the world. It is spacious and as it is the school holiday season at the moment, it never felt crowded. It is beautifully layed out. At the main entrance you pass many indigenous birds to Australia such as this white cockatoo.

Various lizards are scattered along the walkways and one hardly notices them as they blend in with the environment. Just as they decide you are too close they take off with lightning speed and scare you crazy.
There are many Koala displays and you can get very close to them. They are not caged in. So you can take wonderful pictures.

The reptile display is just as nice. All the displays are so creatively layed out.

There is also a large area where you can pat kangaroos. As we used to have many kangaroos on our property before, we didn't stay there very long. This was a wonderful day and we will definitely go again.
